Accessing resources in another domain without trusts

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to access a resource (file share) on a computer in another
domain.

We have no trust relationships between the domain, however if I log on
with a local user account over the network on the PC where the resource
is I can access the fileshare, however If I try to logon with a domain
account (an account in the domain where the resource exists) I cannot
access the fileshare even though there are permissions on the file for
the domain account.

For some reason this is not working, however we have been able to do
this in other domains. Please could someone provide some ideas on where
to start troubleshooting, or why I cannot access resource on the domain
with a domain account, but can If I set up a local account on the PC.

To recap I am trying to access a fileshare resource in domain A from a
computer in domain B, logging on to the fileshare with a domain user
account from domain A.

Have you tried setting up a saved password for the second domain via the
Users Panel?

Users - Manage Passwords - add *.domaina.local domaina\username password
save
