Hi,

I want to clone our AD (Server 2003, empty root and one child domain) to a
separate test environment (running on VMWare).
The IP setup in the test environment is completely different than the
production environment.
How can I do this?
Our first attempts to do this (ntbackup and ASR) had limited success: the
child domein was unable to communicate with the root domain, even after
manually changing IP-adressess in DNS.
Did somebody succeed in cloning his/her AD to a separate test environment?
TIA, Peter

Ad the 2 test DCs to the production environment and let
AD replicate. Then make an image of both test DCs. Start
the test DCs again in the production domain and remove AD
from them and then remove them from the production domain.
Move the test DCs to the test environment, restore the
images and modify their IP addresses.

Good luck!
