i created a trust external, two-way, non-tansitive between two domains. the
trust verifies from both ends and I am able to add users from domain A to a
domain-local group in domain B.
Unfortunately for me I am unable to add users from domain B to a
domain-local group in domain A. If I browse with advanced - find now - I get
the server is not operational!? I found a KB article 837328, but it made no
difference.

Any idea how can I find out what the cause is?
domain A is w2k3 and domain B is w2k; dns zone transfers work fine and the
secondary zones are populated on both ends...

Do you have any firewalls in place between the two domains?

If so this may helps:

George,

One thing that I usually do when creating trusts is to use Netdom instead of
the MMC. I find that - assuming everything else is properly in place - this
always works.
