Hi,

Two weeks ago, we did a DCPROMO to remove a DC from the domain. Everything
went fine, except when I issue the command repadmin /showreps ServerName, I
have the following result. I would like to know how to get rid of the error
message. It seems that the DC erase the connection but not completely. How
can I check this.
Thank you
Jacques

Is it possible that the deleted item is in the tombstone state and that it
will eventually dissapear.

Try running through a metadata cleanup and see if it's still referenced.
Possibly the demotion didn't properly complete.

Clean up server metadata Active Directory 2003:

This one shows you where in ADSI Edit to check as well (2000 and 2003
procedures are the same)

If it's not in ADSI Edit, and it doesn't show up using ntdsutil, and it's
not in Sites and Services, nor in ADUC under the DC OU, I can't hink of
anywhere else it would be referenced other than a partner connector on
another server.

Does it show in replmon?

I have ahd this in the past and cured by a good old fashioned reboot of the
server in replmon or repadmin that is trying to pull a rep from the obsolete
server.
