Help with LDAP error: 00000003: LdapErr: DSID-0C06042A

An LDAP query that returns a large number of records is failing, and we are
noticing the following error message in the Active Directory Application Mode
error logs.

Does anyone have more information about the following error message?

Internal event: The LDAP server returned an error.

Additional Data

Error value:

00000003: LdapErr: DSID-0C06042A, comment: Error decrypting ldap message,
data 0, vece

Queries that return smaller sets of the same data are successful.

That's not an error that I have seen before...
can you say a little more about your query:

number of records?
how are you retrieving the records?
if you run the query using ldp.exe or an ldf export do you get the problem?
