Hi,

I am interest in creating a user in Active Directory where by a particular
user simply logs on and has everything locked down except for a shortcut to a
particular web page running in kiosk mode. Is this possible?? And what is the
best went to implement this?

Thankyou.

In order to do this you will need to be familiar with group policy. Create a
new OU that will house the user object that will be used to login to the
machine. Create a new GPO on the OU and simply set the default Internet
Explorer page to the page you want for your kiosk. As for locking everything
else down, you can also do this via group policy. You just need to play with
the settings. You coudl also do this on a computer object however by creating
the GPO onan OU that houses the user object, it woudl allow that user object
to turn any machine it is logged into with that account into a kiosk right on
the spur of the moment which is helpful at times.

For locking down the remainder of the system, use the User Configuration >
AdministrativeTemplates -> Start Menu then just start lockign down the box.
Hit enough of them and all you will have is a machien that can run IE and
nothign else.
