hi Guys

I want to run a logon script that will run a reg file

Does the reg file that is referenced in the script need to go in the Scripts
folder in SYSVOL where my script is as well ?

Not necessarily - as long as you specify its network location - although
placing it on the authenticating domain controller might make sense in a
distributed environment, to ensure that the file is "close" to the user's
location. However, you might want to reconsider using reg file for registry
modifications and create a custom Admin Template for this purpose instead...

Marcin gave you good advice - I just wanted to add that, in addition to
the option of writing a custom ADM template, you could also use Group
Policy Preferences to modify the client's registry, add, delete, modify
values and keys there. Pretty painless if you've already installed the
Client Side Extensions (via Windows Update) and have a Vista/Server 2008
machine around.

cheers,

Florian
