Does anyone know how to make ADAM (Active Directory Application Mode) use
case sensitive usernames?

Currently, My install of ADAM is NOT case sensitive for the username,
however, we have a spec that requires case sensitivity on a username.

ANy ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian

Hi

Unfortunately I do not think you will be able to achieve this. The two
ways to specify the name component of the LDAP bind for a native
ADAM user are

(1) the distinguishedName of the ADAM object

(2) the userPrincipalName of the ADAM object

the "username" in (1) is the RDN (cn by default) of the object class;
ADAM enforces the syntax of this component as Unicode directory
string so that cannot be case-sensitive.

In (2) the userPrincipalName is also a normal case-insensitive Unicode
string and is defined as such in the ADAM base schema and so cannot
be modified.
